Genomic affinity in hybrids of B-genome Arachis species: new genetic resources toward peanut improvement

چکیده
Abstract Peanut (Arachis hypogaea L.) is an important oilseed crop and food legume that highly susceptible to biotic abiotic factors. Wild Arachis species represent useful genetic resources because of their resistance pests diseases. In particular, understanding the affinity between B-genome for broadening base A. (AABB genome), since only one population ipaensis known, relatively few other have been described. Therefore, we aimed determine genomic williamsii by developing hybrids. Microsatellite markers verified hybrid status, chromosome pairing pollen viability results revealed share high affinity. Additionally, presence dyads detected in sporad analyses indicated production 2n gametes. These will be performing evolutionary studies strategies introgression programs improve B genome hypogaea.

Advances in Arachis genomics for peanut improvement.
Peanut genomics is very challenging due to its inherent problem of genetic architecture. Blockage of gene flow from diploid wild relatives to the tetraploid; cultivated peanut, recent polyploidization combined with self pollination, and the narrow genetic base of the primary genepool have resulted in low genetic diversity that has remained a major bottleneck for genetic improvement of peanut. H...

Genome re-assignment of Arachis trinitensis (Sect. Arachis, Leguminosae) and its implications for the genetic origin of cultivated peanut
The karyotype structure of Arachis trinitensis was studied by conventional Feulgen staining, CMA/DAPI banding and rDNA loci detection by fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) in order to establish its genome status and test the hypothesis that this species is a genome donor of cultivated peanut. Conventional staining revealed that the karyotype lacked the small "A chromosomes" characteristi...

Peanut (Arachis hypogaea; 2n = 4x = 40) is a nutritious food and a good source of vitamins, minerals, and healthy fats. Expansion of genetic and genomic resources for genetic enhancement of cultivated peanut has gained momentum from the sequenced genomes of the diploid ancestors of cultivated peanut. To facilitate high-throughput genotyping of Arachis species, 20 genotypes were re-sequenced and...
